Overview
Consolidating the Fragmented Sports Media Landscape

Scorer is a multi-sport mobile ecosystem designed to serve as a single point of entry for the modern sports fan. Today’s enthusiasts are forced to navigate a chaotic mix of apps for live scores, social media updates, and merchandise. We partnered with Sport Life Inc. to design a unified hub that merges real-time news, live streaming, and social media aggregation with a dedicated e-commerce Fan Store.

Our challenge was to architect a high-density mobile environment that feels organized and personalized, allowing users to follow their favorite teams and purchase merch without ever leaving the application.

In detail
The Friction of the Multi-App Fan Experience

Sports fans often spend more time switching between apps than actually consuming content. From checking Twitter for breaking news and TikTok for highlights to visiting official stores for jerseys, the user journey is fundamentally broken and fragmented. Our strategic goal was to find the perfect "mixture" of match streaming, smart analysis, and social engagement.

By creating a digital space where news is integrated with a merchandising retailer, we aimed to solve a major market gap. We focused on reducing the cognitive load of a "busy schedule" fan, providing a curated experience that brings all relevant sports content into one pocket-sized command center.

What we did
Unified News and Commerce Architecture

We engineered a multi-functional mobile platform that included:

  • A dynamic news feed with personalized event tracking and real-time match statistics.
  • An integrated Fan Store for one-click purchases of official team merchandise.
  • A "Hot" section that aggregates stories, tweets, and TikToks from verified sports accounts.
  • High-fidelity interactive prototypes for live match streaming and video highlights.
  • A community-driven interaction module for fan discussions and real-time commentary.
How we did it
Architecting the Fan-Centric Experience

The project began with an in-depth analysis of fan behavior across competing sports news platforms. We identified that while many apps provide scores, almost none provide a direct path to commerce or a unified social feed. Based on these insights, we developed a high-fidelity Information Architecture (IA) that serves as the backbone of the Scorer experience.

This IA allowed us to map out complex flows between news consumption and shopping, ensuring that navigation remains pleasant and structured even with a massive volume of daily content. By focusing on "Experience First," we raised the standard for how sports data is visualized and consumed on mobile devices.

Working progress
Content Aggregation and Market Differentiation
Market Gap Analysis and Merch Integration
Our competitive research confirmed that integrating a merchandising retailer directly into a news app would be a unique market offering. We designed the "Fan Store" not as a separate tab, but as a contextual layer. For example, if a user is reading about a team's victory, the relevant merch is suggested as a natural next step. This design choice turns passive readers into active customers, creating a seamless bridge between sports news and retail performance.

Social Media Synthesis and Personalization
The second phase focused on the "Hot" section, a curated aggregator of the world's most popular social accounts. We designed a flow that carefully collects videos, tweets, and highlights from verified sources into a single, high-energy feed. This required a flexible UI that could handle different media formats-from vertical TikToks to text-heavy tweets-while allowing users to adjust the feed according to their preferences. This level of personalization ensures that every fan's version of Scorer is unique to their interests.
Outcome
The Ultimate All-in-One Sports Companion

The result of our work is a unique combination of news, stories, and commerce that eliminates the need for multiple sports applications. We delivered a production-ready Figma ecosystem that covers every user flow, from first-time onboarding to the final checkout in the Fan Store. The app's architecture is built to rule a crowded market, providing Sport Life Inc. with a scalable asset that can easily onboard new sports, leagues, and retail partners.

Every interaction was designed to be as fast as the games themselves, ensuring that fans receive high-fidelity reports and highlights without any technical friction.

Results
Establishing a Premier Digital Fan Hub

Scorer successfully transformed the sports news experience into a brand new, outstanding digital service. Through our design-led approach, the platform achieved:

  • A unique market position as the only app to successfully merge sports news with a retail Fan Store.
  • Increased user session length by consolidating social media content into the "Hot" section.
  • Seamless user transitions between live match statistics and interactive community discussions.
  • A scalable design framework that supports rapid expansion into new sports categories and regions.
